Hi! This is Lazar Hausman, president of Hausman Homebuyers, Inc. I’d like to personally thank you for taking the time to look at our site and read the blog. This is my first blog entry. I’m not even sure what to write! I guess I’ll tell you a little bit about myself and investing in the real estate business. I wasn’t born in San Antonio, but my family moved here when I started kindergarten. I lived here until graduating high school, and then lived in Austin while attending undergraduate and graduate school there. I’ve been back in San Antonio ever since, so this is my home and where I’m from.
My uncle got me started in the real estate business. He has close to 30 years of experience and used to buy 10-12 houses a month! Those were the good old days when there wasn’t much competition. Today’s real estate investment market is much more competitive. This means investors have to look for properties more aggressively and that the profit margins are smaller. If there is a good deal available, expect there to be other people trying to buy it before you can. Smart investors are conservative when evaluating what they will be able to sell the property for after it is remodeled. When your profit margin is low, you don’t want to get stuck trying to sell the most expensive house in the neighborhood. Finally, is important to remember that whenever there is competition, there is also a few tricksters. Beware of who you deal with! If it sounds too good, it probably is.
